Yeah, interestingly homosexuality gets mentioned in the majority of her adult novels, going back as early as 1956, and also in her memoir, so she wasn't evasive about the subject. We'll see her state in a later interview that her YA protagonists aren't meant to be gay. But the homoerotic subtext of their bromances, it seems, was 100% intentional.
